Cord

Make a crochet chain 16.5" long.
Single Crochet in the second chain from hook. SC in all following chains.
Fasten off.

If desired, you may stiffen the bottom of the bag.

Cut a piece of plastic canvas 2.5" square. (see template A)
Cut two pieces of coordinating fabric into 3" squares. (see template B)
Pin your fabric together with the right sides facing each other.
Whip stitch the fabric together on three sides.
Turn the fabric right side out and slide the plastic canvas square inside this pocket.
Fold the raw edges of the fourth side to the inside and use an invisible stitch to close the opening.
Turn the bag inside out.
Using a coordinating color of thread and making sure that the corners of the squares are lined up with the stitches between the YOs, baste the covered plastic canvas to the bottom of the bag.

Weave in your yarn ends. Thread the cord through the eyelets. Tada!

  1. This doesn't make sense to me:

Row 3: *K1, PM, YO, PM, K1 repeat from * four times
    row 4: Knit
Alternate Rows 3 & 4 until you have 48 sts

There are already 3 stitches on each needle, and why add all the markers?

  2. She wants you to put the place markers on early, so that as you increase on row 5, you wont forget. It's just a very early reminder.

This is so pretty. I like all three bags and isn't cotton just the best stuff ever to knit with in the summer?! Great job.

Question: About how big is the finished bag? Just wondering

    TVM for sharing,

  3. I've started your pattern, but I also have a few questions. Maybe it's just me, but I'm finding some math errors.

Row 3 says *K1, YO, PM, K1, PM, YO, K1 and to repeat it four times. But the previous row indicated that you should have 12 stitches. Row 3 requires 5 stitches and to repeat it 4 times means you would need 20 stitches on your needle, not 12. Am I missing something? I've had to start over a bunch of times because of it.

Also, Round 9. It has the pattern and says to repeat it to the last 4 stitches and then to YO, K2, K2tog. Doesn't this require 5 stitches and not 4?

I'm sorry, I really love this pattern, but it's not looking right because of this. Any help would be appreciated.
